Power of Attorney

A power of attorney is a legal document that authorizes an individual (the “principal”) to appoint another person or organization (the “agent” or “attorney-in-fact”) to act on their behalf in legal, financial, or other matters. The power of attorney can grant the agent broad or limited authority to make decisions and take actions on behalf of the principal, depending on the terms specified in the document. This authority can include signing contracts, managing finances, making healthcare decisions, or handling real estate transactions. The power of attorney can be temporary or durable, meaning it remains in effect even if the principal becomes incapacitated.
