Accession

In real estate, accession refers to the legal principle by which improvements or additions made to a property become part of the property itself. These improvements may include buildings, structures, fixtures, or other enhancements that are attached to the land or existing structures. Accession typically occurs when these additions are permanently affixed to the property and cannot be removed without causing damage. This principle ensures that the owner of the property retains ownership of any enhancements or additions made to it, even if those improvements were not initially part of the property.
